July 2006
Many of you who know me have heard me declare with pride that I do not watch TV. The month of July 2006 was very different. I found myself glued to the TV and various web sites following the war in Israel and Lebanon.
All I could hear was how many people are dying all around the world. In the US, 140 people died from the immense heat wave, in Iraq about 100 people die a day. In Israel an average of 100 rockets fall and in Lebanon even more causalities. In Indonesia a Tsunami hit the shores resulting in many casualties.
Conflict is surrounding us from North Korea, to Syria, from Iran, to Africa. Have you wondered what is going on in the world? Have we began World War III like the media is asking?
I found myself experiencing sadness, anger, frustration, even hate for the people who believe that others should die. I began experiencing old feelings of separateness, taking one side or another, low vibration of conflict, survival; familiar feelings of a warrior.
It is so easy to step into being a warrior isn't it? Many of us lived many lives being warriors and protectors, fighting for what we believed in. If we look at the conflict around the world, it seems that conflict stems from the illusion of being separate. If everyone wants to create a better world, believing that their way is the only way, conflict is expected. If we fear that all other ways are a threat to our survival and call them evil, then we live in hell.
I found it fascinating to look at the conflicts in our exterior world as a mirror to the conflict within ourselves. I found myself in conflict only when I was operating at the level of separateness, right vs. wrong, good vs. evil, us against them, winner vs. losers, the west vs. the east, Shiads vs. Soonies, the world vs. terrorists.
Once I stepped to a higher vibration of being love I realized that we will continue to have conflict and wars in the world as long as we cannot resolve our internal conflicts and find our peace within.
It became clear to me that we are all responsible for the war in the world as it only reflects are internal wars with the terrorist within.
Who represents a terrorist in your life? Who stands in your way of living your heart's desires? Who is sabotaging your creations? Who is terrorizing your relationships?
Maybe earth was not meant to be a peaceful place; only a school where we come to express our hate and frustrations through wars so we can learn to love? Just a thought..
What I do know:
- I do know that some conflict can only be resolved by war
- I do know that conflict will continue to exist as long as we have so much hate.
- I do know that humanity has been working on these issues for thousand of years and is not yet ready to graduate into peace
What I don't know:
- I do not know how to resolve the existing conflicts in the middle east.
- I do not know how long it is going to take to raise the global vibration level to only love
- I do not know all of my own conflicts that I hold on to that are keeping me from absolute love
What can we do?
- Imagine a world where more people choose love than hate
- Focus more on the possibility of life that inspires you, than on your fears
- Look to resolve your own conflicts with your heart so you can operate on a higher level than war.
- Be LOVE
- Every day when you encounter a conflict ask: "Can I Love That?"
If we are all responsible for the war in the world, maybe if we transform our life to peace first, one life at a time, we will together create a world full of greater love. Something to ponder about.
Love
Steven
